INDIVIDUAL/FAMILY TREATMENT
Admission Criteria:
Participants are individuals with a mental illness or families who are dealing with a family member with a mental illness that leads to an inability to function in their daily life, to support themselves financially, or to exhibit behaviors which brings them to the attention of law enforcement for odd or dangerous acts.
Format:
Individual and family therapy is individualized to the needs of the individual or family. Therapists utilize multiple therapeutic interventions with attention to the Best Practices modes of delivery.
Goals of therapy:
- To obtain maximum function and quality of life
- To understand their illness and its effects on themselves and others
- To develop appropriate coping strategies to manage the symptoms of their mental illness
- To be able to gain access to community resources
Discharge criteria:
- Discharge would be indicated when an individual or family has decreased symptoms of the mental illness so that the illness is no longer presenting a problem in their daily life and they are able to manage the illness without assistance or intervention from the mental health community or law enforcement.
- Breach of confidentiality
- Committing or threatening to commit a crime on SOLUTIONS FOR LIFE property or against the staff or another client.
